Historical Highlights, 1956 - 1983

In early 1956 the seeds had been planted for the formation of a Unitarian Fellowship in College Station by Unitarians Billy and Betty Thomas and Richard and Georgine Tarble, when they presented their ideas of forming a fellowship to the other members of their department. The four were associated through the Department of Oceanography and Meteorology at the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas (later to become know as Texas A&M).

In October of 1956, Under the leadership of the Tarbles and Thomases, The Unitarian Fellowship of College Station was formally organized as the 200th fellowship of the American Unitarian Association.
